What do I need to rent an instrument?

At least one Major Credit Card, however we prefer two Major Credit Cards.

What is the difference between New, Near New & Used

'New' Instruments are brand new and have never  been played.

'Near New' Instruments look new, but have been rented before.

'Used' Instruments range in condition. While all 'Used' instsruments are in excellent working order, they may have evidence of previous repair, scratches and loss of laquer.

How are the instruments cleaned?

All 'Near New' & 'Used' instruments prior to rental go through a 12 point inspection and cleaning process.  This includes play-testing, adjusting, cleaning/flushing the instrument and sterilization.

How long does the contract last?

The initial rental period is 3 months.  After which your rental is on a month to month  basis.

Do the rental payments apply to the purchase of the instrument?

Yes.  All of the payments are applied against the retail price of the instrument.

Do I get any discount if I pay it off early?

Yes.  You can take 40% off the retail balance any time during the rental.

What if the instrument is damaged?

Music Man offers an optional Repair Insurance (R&R) for $5 - $8 per month.  It covers all costs for parts and labor.  However, without this insurance, you are responsible for any repairs.

How much do repairs cost?

The cost of repair depends on the type of damage.  Repairs are done at $75.00 an hour.

May I change instruments without additional cost?

Yes. At any time during the Rental, you may change your instrument for another without losing your equity.

What if my student quits?...

You can return the instrument anytime after the first 3 months.
